Mark Breneman, JD CFP®
Managing Partner
Mark has been actively involved in fee-based planning, analysis, and asset management since 1986. With an undergraduate degree from Gustavus Adolphus College, he did graduate study at the University of Minnesota. Mark earned his Certified Financial Planner™ designation in 1990 and completed a Masters of Science degree in 1992. Mark completed his Juris Doctor degree at Hamline University School of Law December 2007.
Prior to founding an investment advisory firm, Mark gained valuable leadership and management knowledge as he established and managed several other businesses. Mark has developed special expertise in retirement analysis for employees in higher education and has worked extensively with employees in the MnSCU system (Minnesota State Colleges and Universities). He co-founded the Academic Advisory Group, a coalition of fee-only advisors serving the needs of MnSCU employees statewide. Over the years, Mark has spoken and written extensively on topics related to retirement and asset management; he also serves on the boards of several charitable organizations.

Marcus Winbush, BS CFP®
General Partner
Marcus has a broad background in the financial services industry with 15 years of experience working with clients and advisors. Marcus attended the University of Wyoming and earned an undergraduate degree from the University of North Dakota. Early in his career, Marcus worked with Mark Breneman at AMG Advisors (Rochester, MN) as a fee-based financial planner. This experience helped shape his philosophy about how an investment advisory firm should work with its clients and ultimately led him to join Mark as a partner in 2005.
Prior to becoming a General Partner, Marcus served as the National Sales Manager for Investments at Thrivent Investment Management. In that position, he focused on providing real-time investment strategies for 2,500 Thrivent Associates and over 3 million members nationwide. He worked closely with the senior investment management, product, and marketing teams to help Thrivent Associates increase their effectiveness.
In addition to his Certified Financial Planner™ certification, Marcus is NASD-registered and holds Series 6, 7, 63, 24, and 66 licenses as well as a life, accident and health insurance license. Marcus and his family live in Woodbury, MN. He enjoys golf, skiing, and travel; Marcus serves on the board of the Washburn Foundation.

Troy Noor, BS CFP® CFA
Vice President of Investment Research
Troy has over 11 years experience in the financial services industry as a financial advisor, manager coach, independent franchisee, and investment analyst. Prior to joining the firm in 2007, Troy was an independent franchisee, manager coach, and financial advisor with Ameriprise Financial Services, Inc. Troy also serves as an Investment Analyst for DR Capital LLP, which serves as a resource partner for Breneman Winbush & Associates.
Troy graduated Summa Cum Laude from St. Cloud State University with a Bachelor of Science in International Business. He also graduated from the Berlitz Language Schools where he specialized in Russian. In addition to his Certified Financial Planner™ and Chartered Financial Analyst™ certifications, Troy holds Series 7 and 63 licenses and insurance licenses. He is also certified for Options Trading.
Chuck Etzweiler, MBA CFP®
Senior Investment Officer
Chuck has almost 20 years of experience in the securities industry. Prior to joining Breneman Winbush & Associates, Chuck held several key positions, including Regional Vice President at Thrivent Financial for Lutherans and Assistant Vice President of Institutional Investment Sales for the Bank of Hawaii. He also worked for Wells Fargo Capital Management, Inc. as Regional Director of Funds and Annuities in the Southern California region.
Chuck graduated from Syracuse University with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing; he also earned an MBA in Finance. In addition to his Certified Financial Planner™ certification, Chuck holds the following designations: Registered Financial Consultant, Chartered Mutual Fund Counselor, Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor, Accredited Asset Management Specialist, and Accredited Wealth Management Advisor. He is NASD-registered as a general securities principal, and he holds Series 6, 7, 24, 63, and 65 licenses.
Chuck, his wife, and their two young boys live in Woodbury, MN. He is very involved in his local church and also serves on the board of directors for several nonprofit organizations.

Kim Dworak
Director of Operations
Kim joined the firm in November 2004 as an Administrative Sales Assistant. Kim diligently supports our asset management process by assisting with account trading, account aggregation, and report management for each of our clients. In her previous positions with First Trust Company and Minnesota Life, Kim gained 10 years of experience working with stocks, bonds, mutual funds, and various retirement plans. Kim and her husband, Artie, live in Rochester and are busy with their two children.
Sharlyn Boyum
Document Scanning Specialist
Shari has been with the firm since 1985. She has been instrumental in transforming our operation from hardcopy document storage to electronic storage. With the exception of hardcopy documents that we received prior to 1990, nearly everything else is readily accessible by computer.
Deann Baker
Operations Assistant
Deann joined the firm in 2007; she divides her time between handling receptionist duties and providing assistance for the Director of Operations. Deann and her husband live in Rushford; she has two daughters and a grandson.
Nancy Berdan
Bloomington Office Planning Assistant
Nancy supports our operations in the Bloomington office. Nancy schedules client appointments and assists in putting together financial plans along with other general administrative responsibilities. She is a Cargill, Inc. retiree having served as an Administrative Assistant in Cargill Headquarters for 23 years. Nancy enjoys running, snowshoeing, and biking. She is active with family, church, and book club; Nancy also serves as Coordinator for a Share the Care group.
Barb Winbush
Winona Office Manager
Barb supports our operations in the Winona office. Barb schedules client appointments and handles general receptionist/administrative responsibilities. Prior to her current assignment, Barb retired from her position as technical editor and project manager at IBM (Rochester, MN). She is active with her family, church, and volunteer work in the community.

Daniil Reouk, MBA CFA
Investment Analyst
Daniil is co-founder, managing partner, and portfolio manager of DR Capital, LLP. Prior to serving as an Investment Analyst for Breneman Winbush & Associates, Daniil gained significant investment experience through his work as a finance manager for Honeywell and General Mills (Minneapolis, MN) and as portfolio manager/research analyst for Henry Fund (Iowa City, IA). Daniil holds a BS degree in Economics from Moscow State University and an MBA in Finance from the University of Iowa.
Denis Serbayev, MS PhD
Quantitative Analyst
In his role as a Quantitative Analyst, Denis is an invaluable resource for Breneman Winbush & Associates. Denis holds an MS degree in Applied Mathematics (with Honors) from Priazovskiy State Technical University (Ukraine), an MS degree in Finance from the Ukrainian Stock Market Development Institute (Ukraine), and a PhD in Systems Analysis and Decision Making Theory from the Kiev National Taras Shevchenko University (Ukraine). Denis has worked as a quantitative developer for Infopulse, a quantitative analyst for the Ukraine Investment Company “Initiative,” and as an R&D developer for United Software Corporation.
